THE HUNDREDS HAVE SOLE.

We have always been "HUGE" fans of THE HUNDREDS. So when we stumbled across their post on THE HUNDREDS kicks, we were excited to announce the arrival of the “Johnson Mid-Top.” We didn't want to slaughter his words, so here is the exact post from Bobby himself:


The Hundreds Footware’s debut project, landing in select TH accounts throughout this week, and in store at THLA and THSF this Thursday morning at 11am.

The design inspiration behind the Johnson is an amalgamation of 4 Cali-centric lifestyle shoes, from all ends of the subculture spectrum. Funneled down into a cohesive, unique silhouette that emanates a classic, timeless simplicity. Our initial offering is constructed of suede and nubuck leathers, with a JAGS-embossed gumsole, and vulcanized sole for the sake of comfort. Accented with a silver top lace-hole and tonal foxing.

Time Lapse.

Streetwear is on the rise in San Antonio. We got to hang out with Lamar, Monica, ERAS and Emily to discuss the state of streetwear and where it is headed. The main topic at hand was fashion from 1985 on to today. We enjoyed being brought back to the years of true hip-hop. There was also some chit chat about the possibility of a new streetwear venture.

KA POW KA CHOW!

We hung out at the Hill Country Kart Club racetrack, in New Braunfels, to check out our buddy Terry run his shifter kart. He did well, considering the fact he hasn't been racing lately. After watching him, his invitation was pretty persuasive... "its only 2G's for a decent kart!"


Its inspiring to see youngin's race the karts. Their control at 40-50 mph at the age of 6 is amazing!

From SA to the BAY

Whenever we're in SF, we swing by FATLACE to holla at our buddy Kenny who always welcomes us. The BAY is well known for its fixed gear community and with MASH being at the heart of it, it shows the real passion for fixies. If you're in the BAY look for Kenny!

Anti-Hype Education.

If you understand the sub-culture, bear with us for a minute (comment if you have anything to add!). If you are learning about this sub-culture, please let us share. This is the anti-hype post. Hype is what makes people sick of streetwear. Hype is what makes you buy the latest kicks when you don't even like them. Hype wants you to conform into something you're not. Educate yourself. Understand this sub-culture is a lifestyle and experience, not just blogged photos of a famous person wearing a brand. Wear the brand because it's a part of who you are. Streetwear has taken a plunge, a bunch of upstarts with no substance, just a nice big print on a tee then put it on the market. We aren't putting down anyone or anything, we want you to educate yourself. Learn and live the sub-culture, not propaganda. If you wanna rock designs with brass knuckles and guns, then do it because that's who you are. Anyone can dress or do what they want to do but the question is, are you doing it because everyone else is or is it really you...

HMG has been extra busy this week! There has been printing, labeling, sticking, packing shipping, traveling, networking, and just about everything else you can think of. So this video that you are about to watch is not only because its what we want to do, but it sure does brings us back to the way REAL HIP HOP was delivered.

GoodTimes.

GoodTimes Skateboards in San Antonio has been the foundation of skateboarding for 16 years. All the hard work has been evident through the amount of customers that run through this shop and the expansion with GSA2. Also, GoodTimes was featured in Skateboard Magazine, issue 55 to be exact. "Shorty" the founder of this empire has been in and out for a couple of months working on big projects that will add to the scene out here. We were able to catch him at the shop during a SB, HUNDREDS release and chop it up for a few. Peep the pics.

We've met lots of cool folks since we've moved out here to San Antonio. "CASPER"(peep his blog) is definitely one of many that have made us feel welcomed and a part of the Street Culture here in SA. Reppin' on the Wheels of Steel, Casper cooks up mixes that beats the walls of Select Footwear and local fans' trunks.
