Dream Art

A long time friend, Mike Brodit, posted these pics on FB and didn't mind if I blogged 'em. Art for/by Mike "Dream" RIP, taken at his brother Lil John's house...

...can never forget our good friend "PAK" aka "Bucket" RIP either!

Thanks for the love Mike! Made me reminisce a bit...

Future graf artists and b-boys no doubt!

Bay Area Graf Artist - Dream

It was an honor to know Mike "Dream" in my lifetime. In this subculture, everone knows that graffiti is of essence, and should definitely know that Dream was a King when it comes to the streets. He dominated and continues to dominate on the graffiti scene because his legacy still lives on today (see dreamtdk.com). His work is characterized by great flare, tight penmanship, and uniqueness. This is not surprising, for it was in his person - loyal, outgoing, strong, creative, and inspiring. He definitely expressed himself through his art and never fronted.

Dream passed in 2000 when he got shot in Oakland, CA. Love goes out to all who knew and remember him. Rest in power!

An Irie Posse piece... Probably his latest work w/Spie...

ARTE ES VIDA

We went to a graf event this weekend to support our boy ERAS and the turnout was pretty BIG. San Antonio has a growing community of graf artists that are adding to the street life of TX. It was real nice to see young artists showcasing their art "legally" in an environment that supports the STREET CULTURE.

The Yard, San Antonio

HMG cruised by The Yard, a local graf supply/vinyl toy/t-shirt store in San Antonio. We hung out with "Dagger", the store owner who was really cool to us. His store had brands such as Kid Robot, Armory, and Official Fitteds. When you're in San Antonio and want to shop for specialty goods, this is one of the places to hit up.
