SUPER SUNDAY FROM CALI TO JAPAN.

Super Sunday started in Cali as a Ruckus ride, but made it's way over to Japan recently. Of course the guys out in Japan have been modding their Zoomers for quite awhile and have inspired a lot of us fellow Ruckus owners over here in the US. Some quickies of some sick Zoomers...

CORGISHOE INTERVIEW.

Corgi is near legendary among collectors, but more than his heat, it's his attitude that makes you say "this guy's got it!". Even if you don't call yourself a sneakerhead, this is a must read. Here's a snippet from the interview:
How do you feel about the ‘sneaker scene?’
I’m not really sure what the sneaker ‘scene’ is. I always bought what I wanted and never was one to show and tell. Very few people who know me personally know me as ‘Corgishoe’ nor would I want to walk around saying ‘hey my name is Corgishoe and I have 2000 pairs of sneakers’ and they certainly wouldn’t know I collect shoes by what shoes I wear day in day out. I think the ‘scene’ is a bit too hectic these days. Maybe people buy shoes more based on where a shoe is sold, how many are made, or how much they can resell them for or if someone who has somehow earned some message board/blog/internet ‘shoe cred’ says they are nice. People are buying shoes they might not even like and wearing them because of the reaction they will get or because they are limited. I hate when people show their collection and say ‘I don’t have much heat’. To me, every shoe you buy should be absolute heat. Why? Because, you as an individual like it. It’s your own personal preference. Why do you need anyone to co-sign your shoe choices?

KONBANWA! (GOOD EVENING) - BANZAI INTRO.

What's going on HMG and HMG followers?! I'm Steve, some people may know me as Banzai, BanzaiPhotography, or pho_sho, but whatever you want to call me is all good. I'm a young cat, 20 years old and currently a student at Northwest Vista. I've lived in San Ant-tony-yo for the last 15 or so odd years of my life and before that, Iceland. You'll see me rollin around town on a Honda Ruckus (was featured here not too long ago), a fixie (copped it off Brandon actually), or a modded civic. I'm big into photography and sneakers, I grew up around brothers that were into sneakers so it's in my blood. I'm also real big into Japanese culture, if you haven't noticed. I've been to Japan once and it's my goal to go back and even study there for a semester or two and maybe even live there. I'm pretty open when it comes music, but if you take a ride with me...you'll more than likely hear some foreign music playing, new hip hop (stuff like Blue Scholars), and oldies. But yeah...be on the look out for more posts, you'll be seeing me around here more often.

And of course...me being silly...

EDUCATE YOURSELF...HIP HOP LIVES.

Hip Hop isn't limited to modern music technology + creative beats + flashy fashion. Some people are confusing this trendy lifestyle with Hip Hop culture. Educate yourself on the foundation of Hip Hop culture, and you will walk away with a deep appreciation of what Hip Hop is. Don't follow trends, they die. Hip Hop lives.

Keep an eye out for Mike Dream's cameo!

A Gem in Oaktown, California

El Taco Zamorano in Oakland is truly an old time favorite from back in the day! Some friends introduced me to this taco truck (restaurant is now open too, right next to it) and I've been frequenting it for years. When we recently got the chance to get out to High St & International, we did! Without our kids in tow, it was all good. It's not exactly in the safest neighborhood, but it is worth making the stop that's for sure.

Although El Taco Zamorano is noted to have the best carnitas in town, we stuck to what we knew...the carne asada! The burritos come stacked with your choice of meat, rice, beans, onions, and cilantro...and perhaps a secret ingredient that makes it so tasty. But you must not skip on the extras - radishes, green onions, and verde. The combo is simply heavenly!

Been ordering this for years!
The "wet" version of the carne asada burrito...yum!
